A well-known, UK Rail engineering contractor have a new long term ongoing contractual opportunity waiting for an experienced, focused and committed P-Way technical Officer. Our client requires a career motivated and delivery focused P-Way Technical Officer to join their new P-Way engineering team to be part of the development and growth of this new division within an already established Civil engineering organisation.

Our client has been welcomed to start delivering a range of P-Way works throughout the South of England. These works will range from Track renewals, Installations, Enhancements and other associated P-Way works.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting to the P-way project Engineer and Technical lead, you the P-Way Technical Officer will be required to lead / assist with the survey, setting out and installation of the track renewals. This will need to consist of technical compliance, accurate recording and delivery of As-built.

To have the working appreciation of production and planning would be an advantage for this role but not essential. Control of project resources including materials and plant and the production of reports will be part of this role.

Requirements:

  • The successful Technical Officer, will have had previous experience in a similar role and will be technically sound with regards to P-Way technical delivery, for renewals and installations.
  • You will been to be competent with regards to setting up work sites, surveying, as-builts and track design review appreciation
  • You will be invited to get involved in resolving technical issues so will need to be a good communicator and computer literate
  • Being the Technical Officer, you will need to be able to manage resources effectively, competently contribute to requirement planning and be very safety aware
  • Ideally you should hold a valid PTS and Stressing levels (1, 2 & 3), familiar with Tamping methods and hold Track Handback Level 4
  • Proficiency with the use of Totalstation Leica / Trimble for Survey and Dozing requirements (2D & 3D) will be paramount for this position
