EWI are supporting a Leading international engineering firm who are requiring a Rail Systems Business Manager to be based in Nuremberg, Germany
The Business Manager is entrusted with a diverse array of responsibilities, ensuring the smooth operation, growth, and success of the company.
Proficiency in the German language (C1/C2) and at least a B1/B2 level of proficiency in English or French is required. Mobility and the ability to travel as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Managing daily business operations.
- Strategically driving the achievement of corporate goals and implementing strategies.
- Coordinating and overseeing the company's Germany branch
- Monitoring and supporting subsidiary operations.
- Providing regular reports to the parent company's management.
- Preparing and facilitating Advisory Council meetings (held quarterly).
- Monitoring the company's financial performance, investments, and business opportunities.
- Developing and executing annual budgets and investment plans.
- Creating and implementing comprehensive business plans to contribute to the company's success.
- Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with customers, business partners, and regulatory authorities.
- Developing and sustaining an effective marketing strategy.
- Spearheading research and development programs to maintain industry leadership.
- Analysing and resolving problematic situations and events to ensure the company's survival and growth.
- Ensuring that company policies and legal guidelines are understood and adhered to throughout the organisation.
- Delegating responsibilities and overseeing the work of managers.
- Managing risk and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Identifying potential process risks and taking measures to minimise them.
- Fulfilling accounting obligations, including tax and social security contributions.
- Continuously monitoring liquidity and managing debt.
- Optimising internal processes to enhance efficiency.
- Enhancing the company's reputation and profile.
- Contributing to the development and maintenance of the quality management system.
Jurisdiction and Responsibility:
The Business Manager holds significant responsibility and accountability, including:
- Ensuring sustainable and safe company development.
- Accountability for financial and accounting matters, including tax declarations.
- Compliance with employee-related obligations, including equal treatment, occupational safety, and health.
- Reporting to health and pension insurance providers, the employment agency, and other relevant entities.
- Meeting notification obligations to the commercial register.
- Upholding compliance with internal and external requirements.
- Ensuring the smooth operation of all company processes.
- Defining the company's development policy.
- Setting quality targets for the organisation.
- Ensuring implementation and compliance with occupational safety, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
- Maintaining confidentiality regarding trade secrets.
Competencies:
- Candidates for this role must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Possess an engineering diploma.
- Hold a degree in business administration, economics, or a related field, or a bachelor's degree in management and controlling, or equivalent qualifications.
- Demonstrate entrepreneurial thinking and high motivation.
- Possess knowledge of certification, accreditation, and recognition processes.
- Have comprehensive knowledge of railway and light rail systems.
- Be familiar with relevant standards, such as ISO 9001, EN ISO/IEC 17020, EN ISO/IEC 17025, and EN ISO/IEC 17065.
- Understand principles and techniques of financial management.
- Exhibit excellent leadership skills.
