About the role
As part of a successful and growing Architectural services department, you'll provide direct support to the Associate Architect whilst joining a team that's been delivering industry leading design solutions for decades. Your organisational and communication skills will help you interact with internal and external contacts to deliver projects within time, quality and budget constraints. You'll also work closely with the Senior Architects, playing an integral role in the driving of quality standards and the development of the team as a whole.
Principal responsibilities and accountabilities
- Be responsible for the production of schematic, general arrangement and detailed drawings in accordance with the relevant standards and procedures
- Ensure quality of delivery when producing or updating CAD drawings to internal and/or customer standards.
- Liaise and work closely with other members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient and buildable solutions to client brief.
- Liaise with other members of the team to determine and define the client brief.
- Design and specify all aspects of building/services in accordance with current guidelines, standards and regulations.
- Contribute to the design planning, resourcing and fee planning of specific project teams.
- Assist in the training and development of junior members of the design team
- Review and provide a peer group audit function of the designs of other team members.
- Promote and achieve excellent service through Perfect Delivery
- Ensure thorough checking and accuracy of deliverables and record documentation in accordance with company QA procedures
- Take lead responsibility for the registering and document control of all incoming information and outgoing deliverables.
- Take lead responsibility for maintaining drawing records, such as check and record file copies
- Provide feedback on the performance of the department from a technical and operational perspective
- Develop positive relationships with customers through good professional conduct
- Participate in knowledge sharing across team and locations
- Keep up to date with design trends/competitor awareness /design techniques (BIM etc.)
- Excellent team ethic, and ability to work extended hours on occasions when required
- Review specialist subcontractors/suppliers production drawings for technical compliance with design intent.
- Participate in effective presentations to external organisations, clients and peer groups
- Contribute to the development of the department as required by the Director.
