Senior Commercial Manager (Pre & Post Contract) - Rail in London, London, United Kingdom
Proven commercial professional, who are ideally MCIPS or MRICS accredited, with strong procurement and post contract experience within major rail infrastructure projects required for an initial 12 month contract.
This role sits outside IR35 and is paying a rate of £530 per day. This will be an initial working from home arrangement but candidates will need to be able to commute to London in the future.
As Senior Commercial Manager you will be responsible for leading a team of Procurement Managers, Commercial Managers and Cost Managers on a variety of renewals project across London's rail network.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all grades of staff, consultants and support staff.
- Managing an accurate pipeline of enhancements and renewals projects.
- Managing estimating activities, including working with the central Surface estimating team to support development of estimates through governance and providing input/ assurance.
- Managing procurement activities including strategies, tender process and governance. Strong experience of delivering framework strategies and call-off contracts.
- Supporting cost management and periodic reporting across a portfolio of projects, communicating issues effectively to senior leadership.
- Proactively managing contract administration across a portfolio of projects, including issues escalated by project team - will include some dispute resolution and contractor engagement at a senior level.
- Coordinating governance and supporting passage of papers through the governance process.
- Building close working relationships with key senior stakeholders.
- Escalating issues appropriately and proactively.
To be considered for the role of Senior Commercial Manager candidates must have experience in the following:
- Ideally MRICS or MCIPS qualified
- NEC3 and NEC4 experience.
- Must have relevant work experience spanning several rail industry programmes.
- The ability to demonstrate key involvement in delivering projects of high value and complexity.
- Must have substantial transport experience and technical skills appropriate to the discipline.
- Responsibility for project(s) and for supervision, control and development of junior personnel.
- Significant management
- Must have procurement experience, ideally within a public procurement context
