Senior Consultant - Procurement - Birmingham
Due to increased workload and securing of new clients, our client is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Contract Services team in Birmingham The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a sector leading client base and join a high performing and growing Advisory division.
Main Job Purpose
• Lead role in delivering expert strategic procurement consultancy advice and end to end procurement services to key clients.
• Manage the delivery of best in class procurement services on major projects across a range of sectors including Utilities, Power and Transport.
• Regional travel to service and manage key clients and multiple projects in a multi-stakeholder environment
Responsibilities
• Lead and deliver a full range of procurement services to public and private clients including:
• Developing procurement strategies (EU and Non-EU),
• Market research, supplier pre-qualification
• Preparation of tender and contract documentation
• Tender management, facilitation and assessment
• Award recommendations and post award contract management
• To provide expert contractual advice to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Other Duties
• To provide bid support and client presentations.
• Act as commission manager on selected accounts.
• Provide coaching and training on specialist areas of procurement and contracts.
• Conduct client care reviews.
• Budget forecasting, income management and credit control on all commissions.
• Contribute to team meetings and Contract Services management forums.
Education / Qualifications
• Degree or equivalent academic qualification.
• CIPS / RICS or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
Key Experience & Knowledge
• Previous 'Tier 1' client facing advisory / consultancy role.
• Significant experience of standard form construction contracts (NEC, JCT).
• Strategic procurement experience (EU and Non-EU).
• Detailed understanding of public procurement legislation.
• Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
• Effective stakeholder management experience.
• Strategy and product development within a procurement/contract environment construction programme experience.
• Experience of working in multiple contract environments and under a range of procurement routes.
• Experience of devising and working with various commercial models.
