TXM Recruit are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer on a permanent basis for a leading Supply Chain, Engineering & Manufacturing and Product Solutions business that works within the global Rail industry.

Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical delivery of innovative and advanced embedded software systems
- Lead and document peer reviews of other engineers software throughout the Stage Gate process.
- Manage the specification, software concept, and delivery as part of an integrated project team
- Participate and support the development and implementation of the wider business strategy for the UK and targeted overseas territories
- Manage the technical risk register for assigned projects and ensure delivery of projects to Quality, Time and Cost against project plans.
- Coach and mentor the Design and Development engineers to increase their technical competency
- Ensure all Quality Procedures are implemented and followed to ensure that all activities within the Engineering Function are fully compliant with the quality management system
Role Requirements:
- Background in software development in a safety critical industry
- Experience of writing C, C++, Python
- Experience of designing interfaces to sensors, cameras, storage and networking devices
- Experience of FreeRTOS
- Experience of GITLab
- Experience of Atlassian products
- Experience of interfacing to FPGA and micro-controllers
- Experience of developing software test cases, code reviews and static code analysis
- Experience of hard, real time embedded software
- Working Knowledge and application of Project Management Methodologies, e.g : Agile, Waterfall, critical path
- Experience in a safety critical industry sector, the Rail industry is advantageous but not essential
