We are currently dealing with a major Rail contractor who are looking at expanding their Derby team by recruiting a Senior Estimator to work alongside the Commercial and planning team. As he Senior Rail Estimator you will produce accurate and comprehensive estimates in a timely and efficient manner working closely with the Pre-Contracts Director and Commercial team developing a delivery plan to project completion. Typical job duties of the Senior Estimator Rail can include, but limited too:

• Assisting to identify new tender opportunities and working with the operational team to establish resource availability against the proposed works
• Working alongside different departments, including the operational teams, planners and Quantity Surveyors.
• Estimating from First Principles
• Creating cost plans and estimates
• Applying and using recognised, appropriate method of measurement rules in the preparation of all estimates
• Assist with the bid admin including the filing of bid information
• Produce Pre-Contract reports on tendering activity each month

 
Job requirements.

• Commercial awareness and experience of estimating within the rail sector either OLE, Civils or Pway
• Strong/demonstrable experience estimating experience, ideally within rail
• Experience of producing detailed costs breakdowns and estimates and able to review cost rates and productivity rates
• Ability to show initiative and look at ways to improve the bidding process
• Driving license
