Estimating lead on the £50m Core Valley Lines Project for TfW.

Job Spec

-Creating complete estimates for a large-scale rail systems projects in South Wales. -Knowledge of track (p-way) would be preferred.
-Estimating the labour, plant, materials and sub-contracts that are required to complete a job or project
-Creating, analysing, and maintaining correct and accurate quantities and thorough take-offs from plans
-Ensuring that the pricing of preliminaries including time and method related costs
-Showing creativity and resourcefulness in order to gain the best pricing from subcontractors
-Ensuring that estimating procedures are strictly followed in the production of tenders
-Acting as bid manager when and where required depending on the value and complexity of the tender
-Proficient with the use of estimating software, Candy
-This is a client facing role, so the ability to present complex estimates concisely is required

About You

• Rail Estimating experience
• Knowledge of permanent way (track)
• Estimating software experience
• Knowledge of rail systems disciplines
• HNC or Degree in Quantity Surveying or an engineering discipline
