Position: Senior HR Advisor
Location: Crewe
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum + Travel Allowance & Benefits Package
The purpose of the Senior HR Advisor role:
The Senior HR Advisor will have overall accountability for the operational delivery of day to day HR within the Infrastructure and Rail Business. This role reports to the HR Business Partner- Group Functions, Infrastructure and Rail as a 'first among equals', supported by an HR Advisor. The role is primarily Operational and Employee Relations focussed but also includes the opportunity to work on ad hoc projects that support the delivery of the Company HR Strategy.
The Senior HR Advisor and the HR Advisor will have nominated client groups within Infrastructure and Rail where they will each take the lead on all matters, but the Senior HR Advisor will guide, support and mentor the HR Advisor as required.
Responsibilities of the Senior HR Advisor:

- Ensuring all employee relations and change programmes across the Infrastructure and Rail business are managed effectively and commercially
- First point of contact for HR Operational matters within the nominated Infrastructure and Rail client group business units
- Leading a full advisory and support service to managers and employees on a range of employee matters. This will need to be done face to face, by email, by phone and over video conferencing.

- Guiding, supporting and mentoring the HR Advisor on complex, commercial or challenging situations where they need support
- Being an expert on all internal HR policies and procedures to ensure they are implemented effectively and consistently
- Building strong relationships with members of the supported business senior leadership team and other relevant stakeholders. Regularly visiting offices, sites and projects to ensure HR has a visible presence within the business
- Passionate about delivering all aspects of employee relations (as this is the main part of the role)
- A sound understanding of Human Resource principles and best practice
- Up to date knowledge of employment law
- Knowledge and experience of effective HR processes
- Knowledge and experience of project management and delivery
- Experience of writing and implementing policies, procedures & guidelines
- Experience of designing and delivering training workshops for managers on people issues
- Understands the important of administration and processes and always get this done, on time and to a high standard
- Strong communication skills to communicate with a diverse client group
- Ability to build strong credible working relations with senior managers and able to influence key decision makers / senior stakeholders
- Able to coach and mentor line managers in dealing with people related issues
- Must be able to comprehend complex situations and make the correct decisions / judgments in a quickly changing environment and to tight deadlines.
- Credible influencer and Trusted Advisor that uses a combination of HR knowledge and commercial experience to influence and gain commitment from all stakeholders
- A hands on 'get stuck in' approach- gets things done and is passionate about delivering the best support possible
- Driven to deliver. Demonstrates enthusiasm, determination, resourcefulness and purpose to deliver the best results. Delivers on promises and commitments
- Confident to work independently and as part of a team
- A strong sense of enthusiasm and enjoyment for the job- a sense of humour is a must!
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Word, Excel and HR databases
Requirements of the Senior HR Advisor:
- Experience with redundancy processes is essential
- Experience within the Energy sector is essential
- CIPD Level 7 or relevant experience equivalent
- Relevant Industry experience
- Provision of remote (phone or Skype based) advice and support
- Working with digital HR processes
