We are working with a leading engineering consultancy who are seeking to recruit a Senior or Principal Engineer to join their Land Development Team. The ideal candidate will contribute to the delivery of concept studies and strategies with hands on design, leading to planning applications and construction drawing for a range of projects. These projects range from complex residential and commercial redevelopments, to planned new communities and Central London redevelopments. You will have a strong knowledge of and ability to deliver highway design, highway drainage principles (layout, parameters, etc.), as well as surface water and foul drainage designs.


Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Leading and providing technical support on the design, quality assurance and delivery of strategic flooding and below ground drainage and highway infrastructure related projects in support of the Land Development and Building Structures Teams.
• Understanding, supporting, and managing client needs with high-quality, cost-effective engineering solutions delivered to programme and budget.
• Producing masterplans, site appraisals, writing reports to support planning applications, and designing calculations and construction drawings.
• Representing the company externally in project delivery, business development and Marketing.
• Managing multiple concurrent work streams to deliver projects on programme and within budget.
• Line management, mentoring and leading the technical development of the drainage team in the London and Nottingham offices.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Approaching Chartered status with experience in highway and highway drainage design.
• Sound knowledge of relevant design codes such as DMRB, Local Authority Highway and Water Authority Design Guides, and experience in the preparation of drawings for S104/S185/S106 Drainage Agreement as well as S38 and S278 Highway Agreements.
• Experience in the use of MicroDrainage and Civils 3D modelling software together with experience in applying National Highway and Local Authority design guidance.
