Location: Norwich / Hybrid

Salary: Between £48,000 - £70,000 Negotiable plus

- 25 days holiday, plus public holidays & birthday day off

My client is a leading provider of construction consulting services with expertise in Structural and Civil Engineering.


They are seeking skilled and detail-oriented Structural Engineers at Senior and Principal Level to join their dynamic team based in Norwich. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analysing, and overseeing the construction of various structures, ensuring they are safe, sustainable, and built to the highest standards. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles, as well as proficiency in relevant software tools.


The client encompasses Structural Engineering, Building Information Modelling, Civil Engineering, and Infrastructure Design across various sectors such as Residential, Retail, Distribution, and Technology. Based in Norwich, we specialise in Engineering Master Planning, Due Diligence, Flood Management, Pre-Development Engineering, Drainage Design, Transportation Planning, and Highways Design.

Responsibilities

- Project Leadership: Leading the design and analysis of structural projects, ensuring they meet safety, performance, and compliance standards
- Team Management: Managing and mentoring a team of engineers, CAD technicians, and other staff to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget
- Technical Expertise: Serving as a subject matter expert on structural engineering, providing guidance on complex technical issues and innovative solutions
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring all design work adheres to company and industry quality standards, including thorough checking and coordination between disciplines
- Client Interaction: Engaging with clients to understand their needs, present design solutions, and provide technical advice
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all projects comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and standards
- Proposal Development: Preparing bids and proposals, including estimating man-hours and fees for new projects
- Innovation and Development: Staying updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to incorporate into project designs
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks in projects and developing mitigation strategies

Experience

- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field is essential
- Several years of experience in structural engineering, with progressively responsible roles. Experience in leadership or supervisory positions is highly valued
- In-depth knowledge of structural engineering principles, including static and dynamic analysis, material properties, and construction methods
- Previous experience in building design or construction is preferred
- Chartered Engineer or Demonstrate progression towards Chartered Engineer status and be a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Strong leadership skills to guide and mentor engineering teams, ensuring high-quality work and professional development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders
- Advanced problem-solving skills to address complex engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate data, perform calculations, and make informed decisions
- High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards and regulations
- Ongoing professional development through workshops, seminars, and courses to stay updated with industry trends and advancements
