Our client are part of the UK’s Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, they are public body responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient clean-up of the UK’s nuclear legacy, their work involves a range of activities for safely transporting materials to and from nuclear sites and providing nuclear transport solutions for a range of customers based in the UK and Overseas.
They also provide transport services outside of the nuclear sector, operating a number of intermodal rail services in consumer goods and general freight markets.
We are recruiting for experienced Senior Service Delivery Managers and are flexible on location, our client will accommodate applicants from all over.
The role is to act as lead contact point at a DRS location, leading and managing a team of Traincrew, ensuring sufficient capacity, availability and competence to deliver rail services in line with the company’s safety, customer service and commercial goals.
Essential Criteria:
Demonstrable track record of success in management of an operational function of a commercial, safety-regulated business comparable to the scale, complexity, and activities of DRS.
· Demonstrable track record of managing and developing high-performing teams focused on delivering significant results.
· Demonstrable track record of engaging with Trades Unions and Regulators.
· Track record of success in managing safety and risk within comparable regulated environments.
· Experience of leading change and business transformation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Understanding of Traincrew Ts and Cs and the Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) Train Driver Rule Book.
· Working knowledge of the DRS network and Traction and Rolling Stock (T&RS).
· Ability to lead operational teams
Key accountabilities:
Be accountable for day-to-day line management of Traincrew at the location, in line with company policies, procedures and working instructions.
Lead safety, security, and resilience activities at the location, supporting Company initiatives and ensuring all safety plans and associated activities are carried out to the required standard.
Be accountable for service delivery performance at the location against agreed Integrated Business Performance (IBP) key performance indicators (KPIs).
Act as a mentor and coach to other leaders within Rail, role modelling behaviours in line with the NTS Management Standards.
Lead continuous improvement, best practice, and business transformation activities to maximise the effectiveness and efficiency of Service Delivery.
Represent the Service Delivery location at internal and external meetings as required.
Enable Standards and Training Managers and Competence Assessors to perform their duties to ensure all Traincrew assessment and competence targets are achieved.
