Role Purpose:
- To take a role in all planning, resources and systems for the execution of projects on-site; organising, co-ordinating site and managing sites to deliver the plan safely, meeting customer requirements, on time, within cost and to standard.
What you'll be doing
As a Senior Site Manager (Track) you will involve:
Role
- Contribute to Plan development with the Construction Manager and Works Manager
- Organise suppliers and sub-contractors to achieve efficient integration into the Plan
- Plan day to day requirements of the Project works Package to produce effective use of all resources to minimise snagging
- Carry out team briefing/debriefing of plan and task requirements, ensuring lines of command are clear
- Ensure correct positioning/sequencing of plant and equipment for optimum use by on-site teams & personnel
- Enact plan requirements, monitor site circumstances, conduct risk assessments, re-plan work to optimise output
- Identify potential contract variations to Construction Manager and PM
- Control and implement health, safety, quality and environmental requirements, supported by full briefing
- Responsible for staff welfare on-site
- Liase with NWR & contractors regarding trackback arrangements.

- Achievement of handbacks v. Plan
- Level of Non Conformance Reports
- Delivery - no. of revisions to Plan.
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
Important knowledge:
- In depth appreciation of NWR, Group and Line Standards;
- In depth knowledge of track renewals;
- Knowledge of rail plant and equipment;
- Understanding of rostering process;
- ements/ PICOP;
- Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental requirements Conversant with business management systems;
- Experience delivering wheel timber bridges.
Important skills:
- PTS, COSS, Engineering Supervisor, Crane Controller, Load Examiner, Safe Work Planner;
- SMSTS;
- Driving licence;
- Track back RSR 1-3.
Desirable:
- NVQ level 3 qualified;
- FirstAider;
- Leading and managing engg projects of varying size and complexity;
- Basic Supervisor development programme;
- Advanced supervisory development;
- D32/D33 (A1/A2);
- Stressing 1-2.
