The Company

You will be joining a reputable and firmly established, national rail and civil engineering contractor in with a company turnover approaching £300m (Group TO £500m+). As a specialist civil, building, mechanical and electrical renewals and maintenance business recognised on contracts and frameworks across the country, you will become part of a renowned brand name and team giving you the opportunity to grow in conjunction with this ambitious and forward-thinking business. In recent times, the company has used its repute and solid track record in the rail industry to venture into pastures new and break into working with new clients and industries such as the Environment Agency, Highways England and London Underground to name just a few.

About the Job

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a top contractor as a Senior Sustainability Manager, you will directly manager a team of 6 specialist advisors, who focus on niche Sustainability area such as: Ecology, Noise, Vibration, Carbon and Water courses. The role is UK wide and will focus on spending time around the various locations, you would be travelling for up to 3 days per week to clients and stakeholder locations. With prospects including working in collaboration with the assurance team to ensure environmental practice is adhered to in real time, and that the company are also hitting their ‘contractual obligations’ with key stakeholders and clients such as: Network Rail, Natural England, HS2, Environment Agency.

You will be trained on the company procedures, but a lot of this role is going to require a great deal of knowledge as you will be joining the company as ‘the expert’ in sustainability. The company will pay for your upkeep of any fellowships or charterships as required!

The Requirements

You should ideally have 5-6 years’ experience in infrastructure (must have some rail experience) Degree in some form of Environmental or Sustainability. Tender involvement, Strong legal knowledge, need to be flexible will need to travel around the UK.

Remuneration

Salary is between £60,000-£65,000 and will be dependent on experience. Package includes a car or car allowance, 25 days holiday plus bank holiday, contributory pension scheme and health care.
