As part of delivering the Core Valley Lines (CVL) Transformation, part of the Wider Wales & Borders project, we are seeking to recruit a Senior System Integration Engineer to join the project’s System Integration team. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work across the whole railway system, including rolling stock integration.

The role will be responsible for identifying, defining and integrating interfaces across the railway system, interfacing with the wider project processes and assurances including Requirements, System Safety, RAMS and Entry into Service.

Whilst initially the role will be focused fulltime on the CVL Transformation, you will join the team and have future opportunity to work as part of delivering the wider portfolio. Whilst the project office is based in Treforest, South Wales, we would encourage applications from those based elsewhere in the UK.

What will the role involve?

• Apply Systems Engineering techniques to define, integrate and deliver, over time, the solution to the CVL Transformation as part of the Wales and Borders project.
• Manage the integration of complex and novel areas of integration – in particular between the infrastructure and the new rolling stock fleets.
• Manage the integration of the infrastructure change with Operations and Maintenance organisations, and Train Operators.
• Define and integrate interim operating states required as part of delivering the CVL Transformation.
• Contribute to the verification and validation of the overall project requirements.
• Facilitate integration between key Stakeholders to the CVL Transformation.
• Mentor Junior team members.
• Prepare and review technical reports and programmes of work.

What are we looking for?

• Demonstrable experience in the application and delivery of Systems Engineering tools and techniques within major multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of key railway system interfaces.
• Strong facilitation and influencing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple diverse workstreams simultaneously.
• Current Professional Registration or be demonstrably working towards achieving this.
