SENIOR TAX MANAGER
Appointment Basis: Permanent
Salary: Circa £70-80k per annum,
car or car allowance of £7,425
performance bonus 15%
private family healthcare.
Location: Birmingham, however other locations would be considered
Our Client has an exciting new role in their Finance department for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to proactively manage the business tax obligations in UK and Ireland and tackle a variety of interesting and challenging projects following the recent enlargement of the Group through the acquisition of Bombardier Transport.
What are my responsibilities?
As a Senior Tax Manager, you’ll work on a broad range of tax topics including, but not limited to;
- Corporate income tax return compliance prepared by third parties
- Management of other Corporate income tax reporting (CBCR, CIR, CFC, International movement of capital)
- Corporate income tax accounting under IFRS
- Ensuring the compliant operation of direct and indirect tax affairs and support UK A&R
- Active focus on tax cash forecasting and management
- Deploying locally the Group’s transfer pricing principles and ensuring local documentation requirements are maintained
- Work with recently acquired business to ensure integration from a tax perspective
- Review across the business for tax risks and implement controls and procedures to mitigate risks
- Support tenders and ensure tax is considered
- Management of HMRC audits
- Ensure tax process, procedures and controls are adhered to
- Assist from a UK point of view on tax M&A and global restructuring as the Group seeks to streamline the current UK holding company structure
- Maintain communication with HMRC
- Support the Senior Accounting Officer process
What do I need to qualify for this job?
Due to the nature of the work, you’ll already be well versed in tax legislation and have the diligence and attention to detail that one would expect from an experienced financial professional. In addition to the technical experience you will naturally be a focused and determined individual with the motivation to drive and succeed on challenging projects.
Essential
- Strong experience of UK tax legislation
- Chartered Accountant and/or Chartered Tax Advisor
- Enthusiastic and proactive
- Able to identify a problem and propose solutions
- Determined and able to work across multi functions to drive forward projects
- Well organised and able to work across multiple projects at a time
- Attention to detail
Desirable:
- Understanding of finance systems (SAP & Concur)
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
