Salary: £29,000 + bonus

Our client is looking for a Senior Technical Officer to work within a team of technical staff. You will assist in the survey, design and construction of works, ranging from plain line and S&C refurbishments, to longitudinal timber replacements and full track renewal.

You will need:

Essential

  • Experience of carrying out conventional level and line surveys to the required standard
  • Experience of undertaking coordinate geometry surveys, setting up control networks and processing the data in preparation for detailed design
  • Experience of setting out for track renewal work
  • Experience in delivering track engineering works on site
  • Experience of working with tamping machines and proficient knowledge of their computer control programs
  • Knowledge of track construction standards and methods
  • Able to demonstrate, promote and embed safe working behaviours within the team
  • Able to coach, influence and develop others
  • Experience of Analysis and quality control

Desirable

  • Experience of producing detailed horizontal and vertical designs from conventional and co-ordinate survey data
  • Hold or be working towards and NVQ level 2, 3 or 4 (or equivalent) in an engineering/leadership subject
  • Able and willing to drive vehicles as required by business need

The Role:

As Senior Technical Officer (Track) your primary role will be to support the Project Management and Engineering teams in the delivery of track renewal and refurbishment projects. You will plan and undertake surveys, assist in the production of track designs, produce site documentation for setting out and monitoring critical construction requirements. You will use your knowledge and experience to develop and mentor other team members and help promote a holistic approach to the delivery of track engineering projects from a technical perspective
