This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Temporary Works Design Engineer to join a prestigious company working on a major rail project as the Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer.

As the Senior Temporary Works Designer you will be responsible for the management of the Design process from Requirement (Design Brief) to Delivery (Construction) Communicating via Design Check Certificates, Drawings, Designer's Risk Assessment's & Calculations to the TWC and Construction Teams.

The Successful Temporary Works Designer Will:

Ensure that a design brief has been established with full consultation, in accordance with the actual situation on site, and that all construction loads are considered.
Advise the permanent works designer of any temporary conditions or loads that should be considered in the permanent works design.
Ensure that the design is independently checked for concept, structural adequacy and compliance with the brief.
Ensuring SHEQ hazards and risks have been eliminated or reduced in the design. Where not feasible clearly highlight and ensure the Delivery Team are informed of the residual risks to be controlled.
Ensure delivery teams are provided with safe, workable temporary works in timely manner to suit programme via in-house design or supplier/subcontract design checks.
Delivery of first class technical support to the projects teams.
Working in accordance with procedures for Temporary Works management.
Temporary works design from brief to issue of the final design package.

The successful candidate will have the following essential experience:

Previous experience of temporary works design.
Understanding and application of BS5975:2008 +A1 2011 and CDM Regulations 2015.
A Civil or Structural Engineering Qualification, preferably BEng or higher (MEng, MSc), minimum of a HNC/HND.
Chartered Membership of Professional Body (CEng MICE or similar).
