Are you currently an engineer with a around 4-8 years experience, and looking to develop your TUFLOW or InfoWorks ICM capabilities? This medium sized client is looking for a Senior Hydraulic Modeller on a permanent basis to work on a range of flood risk and drainage schemes across the UK, with your report being to a Director.

In the position, you will be engaged with the full aspects of projects, from feasibility and planning through to implementation. Your main duties will be project management of schemes and to manage a small team of TUFLOW modellers, working on Flood Risk, Flood Protection, SuDS and Sewerage projects in the residential, retail, industrial, commercial and public-realm sectors across the UK.

The ideal candidate will have demonstratable experience with TUFLOW or InfoWorks ICM, as a direct aspect of this position would be to manage and to develop the teams capabilities in the software. Youll be expected to manage and delegate workloads, and be active on numerous projects simultaneously, so excellent organisation and communication skills are a must for this position. Being a Senior Engineer, you will be closely involved with clients, and ensuring that models and deigns of flood protection & drainage strategy schemes are successfully delivered.

Job Description:

-          Hold a relevant Civil Engineering degree or substantial experience in the field

-          Be an individual and competent user of TUFLOW or InfoWorks ICM Modelling software

-          Have experience in a range of private sector developments, or public sector works

-          Have experience working in flood mitigation design from feasibility through to detailed design

-          Have some experience with river modelling and hydrological analysis

-          Produce drainage designs

-          Undertake flood risk assessments

-          Have an appreciation and understanding of project management techniques

-          Have demonstratable experience mentoring and developing junior engineers

-          Have experience in a client-facing role, with excellent communication and written skills

-          Have an awareness of policies such as NPPF, FWMA 2010, WIA 1991 and others

This is a permanent position in London with a medium sized consultancy in London who are looking for a Senior Water Modeller or Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join them on a permanent, full-time basis. Youll have the opportunity to work on a range of drainage, flood risk and surface water management schemes across the UK, and develop your managerial experience.
