We are currently dealing with a leading engineering consultancy who are looking to recruit either a Senior or Principal OLE Design Engineer to join there busy and growing Overhead Line Electrification, with the role being based in Birmingham. Within the position you will act as design checker, Lead Engineer, and OLE CRE on high profile projects, which can include TRu, Midland Mainline and HS2. Typically, you will be working on the detailed design on projects (GRIP 4/5) in which you will undertake Lead Engineer duties acting as line Manager and providing guidance to the less experience members of the team in Birmingham, whilst being supported by other reginal offices.  Typical duties for the Senior or Principal OLE Engineer can include, but not limited to:

• Lead projects and provide task guidance and monitoring of performance.
• Provide project progress reports and updates to the Discipline Lead and Project Management Organisation.
• Lead the design of overhead line electrification solutions for engineering projects in accordance with client requirements.
• Design projects in accordance with client requirements.
• Manage other members of the OLE Team, provide mentorship to assist their development, and to enhance the skills within the OLE Team to meet business objectives.

Job Requirements

• Detailed knowledge of OLE design.
• Detailed knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with OLE design.
• Detailed knowledge of construction principles and design standards.
• Proficiency in Network Rail OLE infrastructure design and/or construction.
• Ideally acted within a CRE capacity or too a similar level
