Salary: £85,000 to £120,000
Location: Manchester or London based office, 2 days per week in office.

A civil engineering SME working on major infrastructure projects is seeking a Technical Director to work with their design engineering team, assisting the wider business with the delivery of major programmes, and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements:

• Chartered engineer.
• Relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent).
• Minimum 15 years’ experience.
• Client facing experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead tunnelling design teams.
• Familiar with rail engineering standards.
• Proven experience in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
• Proven tunnelling design experience and familiarity with relevant software.
• Application of CDM Regulations.
• Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful jobs.

Responsibilities:

• Leading the design team on major tunnelling projects alongside another director
• Working with Tunnelling team for strategic bids
• Developing your own network of business contacts to contribute to the growth of the Tunnelling disciplines.
• Mentoring of early career team members.
• Managing, motivating, mentoring, and developing professional staff.
