Manufacturing Engineer - based Crewe, 6 to 12 month contract, £neg to start asap
My client is a global organisation and leader in their sector in the provision of safe, reliable, efficient and technically innovative transportation solutions to UK and global markets alike. One of their key manufacturing facilities located in Crewe is undertaking significant site re alignment which includes large investment in general infrastructure and upgrades to such as power distribution, compressed air systems and general manufacturing equipment. In order to ensure that these works programmes are delivered safely, on time and to budget they require the services of a manufacturing engineer.
Expected
Ability to work with little supervision on agreed projects, maintain project plans and ensure issues are communicated and resolved.
Experience of creating specifications for manufacturing based projects (process or equipment) including but not limited to, throughput, capacity, mix and HSE
Experience of working in a busy manufacturing environment, ideally within a heavy industry.
Experience of successfully utilising lean tools in order to identify bottlenecks and constraints, and generating plans to correct.
You will need to have delivered projects of a similar nature within manufacturing / engineering environments, ideally heavy engineering such as rail vehicle, automotive aerospace but all considered including FMCG, pharmaceutical etc. An understanding of how time critical schedules can be and ensuring seamless transition is delivered for the business.
