The role is to develop detailed Work Instructions, based on OEM Rolling Stock Specifications, resolve technical issues with Principle Engineers, Validation of BOMs, Configure SAP Routings & BOMs.
You will be working on any of these Rolling Stock Work Streams:
• Overhaul of Bogies
• Overhaul of Braking Systems & other Sub components.
• Overhaul of Wheels Sets (Wheels, Axles, Gearboxes)
• Overhaul of Door Systems
• Overhaul of Motors, Alternators, Compressors, Fans etc
• Experience of AC Traction Systems
Ideally our Client needs experienced Rolling Stock Engineers, but would consider Aerospace Engineers depending on knowledge & Experience

London Underground is one of the world's most famous metro systems and is responsible for more than 3.5 million passenger journeys a day. It has 11 lines covering 402km and serving 270 stations. During peak hours, more than 500 trains are in operation.
We have exciting opportunities for Senior Manufacturing Engineers with Rolling Stock experience to join the Network Planning & Services Team to drive robust engineering solutions to manufacturing problems and to support Production Managers on technical issues.
This includes the management of work instructions, estimates, bills of materials and SAP master Data in order to meet contract requirements and to resolve all day to day technical issues. You will be responsible for driving efficiency in line with the Maintenance Optimisation Team.
Key Accountabilities
• Responsible for the delivery of engineering solutions within Workshops covering Rolling Stock & General Engineering.
• Manage the resolution of all technical queries in respect to production, project delivery and material procurement.
• Manage a team of engineers providing technical support to Workshops production areas, and wider business.
• Manage the production of all necessary documentation in order to support delivery. In particular Work Instructions and Bills of Materials.
• Produce estimates in line with customer specifications and requirements.
• Develop Bills of Materials in line with customer specifications, drawings and LUL standards.
• Generate and maintain SAP Master Data.
• Consult with internal/external technical experts as necessary.
• Act as single point of contact for customers on technical issues.
• Drive efficiency in line with the Maintenance Optimisation Team
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Skills
• A high level of numerical and analytical ability is required along with well developed communication, negotiating and inter-personal skills.
• Computer literate, able to effectively use spreadsheets and project planning software such as Microsoft Project and/or Primavera.
• Commercial Acumen.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines.
Knowledge
• A HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is essential.
