We are currently working with one of the UKs leading rail contractors who are looking to expand their Doncaster office by recruiting a Marketing, Communications and Event Assistant based in Doncaster. As Marketing, Communications & Events Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the business in promoting their services, expertise, and building brand awareness.


As Marketing, Communications and Events Assistant your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • The Marketing, Communications & Events Assistant is responsible for supporting the business in promoting our services and expertise and building brand awareness by sourcing information and using it to produce content and news pieces for internal and external communications, such as social media, PR events, company reports, website updates case studies and award entries.
  • Supporting on the preparation and distribution of media materials such as press releases and editorials.
  • Developing, creating, and sharing compelling content for social media channels and Power and Infrastructure website to drive followers and engagement across all platforms.
  • Updating and maintaining Power and Infrastructure website (using WordPress).
  • Experience using a variety of digital communication styles including Adobe InDesign would be desirable.
  • Corporate that all our design work will need to be designed in Adobe InDesign - so we should where possible try and find someone who has these design skills.
  • Establish and maintain good lines of communication with company business units, source news and insight and work to deliver communications programme to promote these by supporting Powerlines UK internal communications strategy.
  • Draft and submit award entries and case study material for Powerlines UK business units.
  • Monitor Powerlines UK news coverage / social media engagement and develop periodic performance reports.
  • Administration of media assets, supporting the team with the management and tagging of project photography and filming and ensuring GDPR compliance.
Job requirements:
  • IT skills to include Microsoft 365 applications, Adobe InDesign, and WordPress
  • Planning and organising.
  • Meet targets and deadlines.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Educated to degree level, preferably in English, Communications or Journalism.
  • Ability to manage and organise time effectively.
  • A calm and resilient manner, able to manage competing time pressures.
  • Knowledge of social media, metatags, and Google Analytics.
  • Full driving licence and vehicle for occasional travel and representation at events with flexibility to travel to different locations.
  • A strong track record with experience in a Learning and Development or a training coordinator environment.
  • An ability to influence and build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders including individuals, groups, trade unions and other public bodies.
  • Able to develop effective and practical solutions to complex issues or rigid situations.
  • An ability to manage change both on a personal and work level working in a high profile, faced paced and demanding environment.
