We're recruiting for the Deep Tube project recently awarded to our business.
General Description:
- To design mechanical structures for the installation of CCTV cameras on existing London Underground stations.
- To produce the relevant documentation to provide manufacturing drawings
- To liaise with civil engineers to allow structural analysis.
- To produce the relevant documentation for assurance to London Underground.
Responsibilities:
- To act as an appointed representative of ADComms;
- Preparation of accurate design submissions through the ADComms Design Office;
- To ensure that ADComms design solutions comply with statutory and contract regulations;
- Responsible for the delivery of mechanical design deliverables for multi-discipline design projects, from initial kick-off to issue of deliverables.
- To ensure that ADComms design solutions are undertaken with consideration of commercial and programme implications;
- Compiling (client specified) design packs, checking photograph suitability and accuracy;
- Liaising with the client and their contractors. This includes attendance at site and progress meetings;
- Keeping abreast of technological advancements/ client standard changes, which may impact on ADComms Design solutions;
- Checking of design submissions for integrity, accuracy and constructability;
- Liaising with CAD Engineers from design stage through to As-Built phase;
- To manage or undertake detailed site surveys, collecting data for design drawings, as required;
- Ensure that all records are kept updated and documentation is kept in accordance with ADComms Procedures;
- Ensure statutory/ADComms health and safety requirements are met, along with third party operators regulations;
- Liaising with clients, sub-contractors, suppliers and contract support staff as required;
- Follows QAP-014 for Design process and assurance;
- To maintain Continuing Professional Development in line with the ADComms Competency Management System;
- To undertake any function, within reason to ensure the smooth running of the department /working on own initiative when requested to do so;
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their Design Manager/Technical Director from time to time, as may be reasonably required of them.
Education Requirements:
- A Degree/HNC/ONC or equivalent in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifying experience;
- At least 5 years' experience working in a mechanical design environment, preferably with site working experience;
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role;
- CDM Regulations knowledge;
- Appropriate professional membership (IEng/ICE, IET, ILP or other relevant membership).
