Job title: Mechanical Design Engineer - Tooling (SolidWorks)
Salary: £30-35k + Benefits

The Company:
This leading manufacturing company work from design to product delivery manufacturing a wide range of off the shelf and bespoke tooling and equipment for the utilities industry, delivering plastic and metallic distribution pipelines globally. The facilities include CNC and manual milling and turning, welding, assembly and test and all products are designed and manufactured on site in the UK.
Working for a smaller company (approximately 60 staff in branch), that covers design to delivery in-house you will gain broad exposure to a variety of design and product delivery stages and manufacturing processes. This is a unique and invaluable experience following products through the full design and manufacturing cycle which could be a great foundation for building a career within project engineering and product/project management. You will be given responsibility and freedom from day one and are expected to bring ideas to the team and deliver improvements throughout the whole product development cycle. You will be given access to professionals across various manufacturing disciplines and will be key in managing client experience.
Key Responsibilities
*Designing bespoke tools from conception and supporting through to delivery
*Conceptual design, assembly / sub-assembly and detailed drawings, generation of Design File, BOM's.
*Improvements to the current product base
*Project management from concept to production
*Involvement in field trials and testing prototypes
*Liaison with customers, engineers and shop floor staff
Person Profile
*Must have an understanding of the manufacturing process and materials
*HND (minimum) / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
*At least 2 years working experience in Solidworks
*Experience in taking ownership of a project
*We will consider recent graduates with industry or projects exposure
*Strong communication skills and drive to push projects forward and deliver excellent products to clients
