At Arriva TrainCare we’re busier than ever and delighted to have 22 new permanent contract opportunities for Mechanical Fitters, Electricians, and Rail Vehicle Builders, to join our busy Crewe depot, working 40 hours per week on days shifts within Monday to Friday.
You’ll receive a salary of £32,402 per annum (£15.58 per hour), along with fantastic additional benefits including: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, pension, healthcare cover, Arriva Travel Pass, Cycle to Work and Arriva Village retailer discount scheme.
Arriva TrainCare (ATC) provides Light and Heavy Train Maintenance services to the railway industry from its five strategically located maintenance depots. What will the roles of Mechanical Fitter / Electrician / Rail Vehicle Builder entail?
As a Mechanical Fitter / Rail Vehicle Builder you’ll carry out the overhaul of rail vehicles to laid down standards and procedures and play an active part in continuously improving product quality. Tasks will include but not be limited to, fitting floors, panelling, seating, tables, windows and doors in the interior of rolling stock, and operating rail vehicles as required.
As an Electrician, your tasks will include but not be limited to, installing and replacing traction and rolling stock components, carrying out modifications according to specified procedures, installing and terminating vehicle control wiring harnesses and system testing train borne components.
What will I need to be considered for one of these Mechanical Fitters / Electricians / Rail Vehicle Builders roles?
• Time served mechanical and / or electrical engineer with a solid understanding of rail (preferred), aircraft or heavy plant maintenance activities
• Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or BTEC in Engineering, preferably within Rail Traction and Rolling Stock
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, with a good understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering principles
• Superb problem solving and organisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
