Mechanical Fitters are required to work on a long-term contract for a large rail company based on a maintenance depot in Longsight, Manchester.

Candidates must have a minimum of City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering.

Hours
Will include days, nights and weekends in a 4 on - 4 off pattern

Rate
£18.03 per hour (Limited or Umbrella Company) for the first 12 weeks
£20.47 per hour (Limited or Umbrella Company) after the first 12 weeks

Location
Due to the requirement to work shifts, candidates would need to live within a 45 minute commute from Longsight, Manchester

Duties
Carrying out mechanical maintenance and any other associated tasks on exam work to rolling stock as directed by the Production Manager

Qualifications
* Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (ONC/HNC/City & Guilds) or recognised equivalent in mechanical engineering (Level 3 or above!)
* Candidates will need a strong appreciation of electrical engineering

Experience Required:
* Experience of working to procedures, work instructions and vehicle maintenance instructions
* Knowledge and practical experience of rolling stock maintenance

Our client operates a strict zero-tolerance Drug and Alcohol (D&A) policy. Following a successful trades test, you would be required to undertake a D&A Screening and Breathalyser test on your start date.
