MECHANICAL FITTERS WANTED!
We're looking for the best Mechanical Fitters in the business to work on a prestigious project in the North West!
The Re-Paint Project is currently underway at an impressive new facility in Widnes, refurbishing a 56-strong fleet of trains. Working in a large team of Mechanical Fitters (Multi-Disciplined Operatives), Spray Painters, Vehicle Preppers and more, the aim is to deliver a full external re-spray of these iconic rail vehicles to the highest possible standard.
You'll be required to remove certain panels and components of varying size from the train roof, accessing this by the overhead gantries. There will be a good amount of mechanical work involved as well as more manual preparation work including some sanding, masking and brush painting.
This is a great opportunity for both budding and experienced Mechanical Fitters (NVQ L2 qualified or above!) to showcase their skills to an industry-leading client on one of their biggest and most exciting projects to date.
Immediate starts are available on this project, running until December 2019.
Hours
Working on a two-week roster, successful applicants will be required work days, nights and weekends as the project requires.

Hourly Rate
£14.29/hour for all hours worked
Location
The location benefits those with their own modes of transport, excellent links to the motorways and surrounding areas. If you are needing to use Public Transport, please consider the start and finish times above!
Some examples of your day-to-day responsibilities;
* Carry out mechanical component exchange in line with Alstom's safety critical competency management system
* Carry out surface preparation with the use of solvents
* Prepare the rail vehicle for spray painting. This includes sanding and brush painting
* Carry out minor electrical work and making safe of electrical systems. E.g. electrical plugs and push buttons
* Maintain good housekeeping within the working area
* Associated paperwork
Required Experience;
* Background in Mechanical engineering
* Electrical experience is desirable but not essential
* Able to act as a member of a multi-disciplined team (flexibility around team roles)
