Recruiting for Mechanical Fitters to work for a leading client in the Rail Rolling Stock Industry based in Manchester to work on a contract basis.

Post first week of induction, the roster will be 4 on, 4 off. Days and nights, 10hr shifts.
Current overhaul rates are:

Pre 12 weeks - £24.81 umbrella
Post 12 weeks - £26.03 umbrella

Purpose of the Role
Working as part of the Overhaul team to service, maintain, repair and overhaul rolling stock and equipment, including the latest generation in train technology to laid down Vehicle Maintenance Instructions
Ensuring all Overhaul activities are carried out in a safe, efficient and cost effective manner, whilst constantly seeking to improve quality
Work will entail replacing underframe components.

Work as directed by the Overhaul Production Manager, will comply with:
All depot protection procedures
Understand and abide to safety notices, rules and regulations and follow safe working practices, HASAW and COSHH
Will adhere to and work within Quality Systems to the current standard
Corrective maintenance (Mechanical)
Preventative maintenance (Mechanical)

Key skills and requirements for the role include:-
Time served apprenticeship or equivalent with associated technical qualifications (ONC/HNC/City & Guilds) or recognised equivalent.
Mechanical bias is essential for this position
Coach builder/Vehicle builder experience

Technical Skills & Competencies:-
Level 2 or 3 Mechanical Qualification. If Level 2 Qualified you will be required to carry out a skills test which comprises of a practical and theory test
Written & communication skills.
Team worker and self-motivated.
Problem resolution.
Work under own initiative.
