Mechanical Systems Pack Assembler in London, Greater London, United Kingdom
My client is responsible for the biggest rail construction project in Europe, helping to improve London's commuter infrastructure.
Due to an increase in project works they require a Mechanical Systems Pack Assembler to join them on an initial short term contract.
As the Mechanical Systems Pack Assembler you will be required to facilitate the progressive assurance and certification of the Bond Street Station Mechanical Systems by compiling certification documentation and ensuring its timely acceptance by the client.
Principal Accountabilities
- Timely production of certification packs in accordance with the certification schedule
- Communicate, coordinate, and interact with QA Engineers and wider package management team including subcontractors
- Preparation of reports in agreement with the Lead Mechanical QA Engineer, detailing process performance
The role requires:
- Efficiency in producing and processing documentation
- Understanding of design information such as drawings and specifications
- Obtaining acceptable documentation from suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues
- Strict adherence to a schedule of document production and submittal
- Insistence on required quality of documentation
Dimensions & Interfaces (both internal and external)
The role reports to the Lead QA Engineer for Mechanical Systems.
The role interfaces with:
- Mechanical systems specialist contractors
- Mechanical QA Inspectors and Engineers
- Client’s field assurance engineers
- The wider Bond Street delivery team as necessary
Person Specification
As the role holder you must possess the following competences:
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Mechanical and Public Health Engineering
- Completed relevant trade apprenticeship
- Experience of site quality control, preferably of mechanical and public health systems
- Current relevant CSCS card
- Methodical, organised, persistent, accurate
- Comfortable assembling CRL style IRN packs
- Good Communicator who can liaise with Staff within Crossrail, and the Contractor teams
- Experienced in use of MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook
- Beneficial to have a good working knowledge of Crossrail
