Our client now has a 6-month contract (outside IR35) opportunity available for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. The role is flexible and can be based anywhere in the UK as there are many office locations plus the option to work remotely is available too!

You will act as the MEP (CRE) and/or Lead Engineer on MEP projects. This role is perfect for someone with strong leadership and commercial skills as you will be part of a high performing MEP team.

Principal responsibilities:

• Ensuring projects are completed to meet all client’s requirements and are completed to the agreed project programme whilst being within budget.
• Plan the project works and provide forward view resource forecasting to enable the team leader to allocate suitable resource to the projects.
• Identify changes to the projects client requirements and raise accordingly
• Provide monthly cost to complete forecasts.

Key skills/experience required:

• Detailed knowledge of mechanical services design within the built environment or transport infrastructure including HVAC, Public Health, Building Physics and BIM
• Detailed knowledge of multi-disciplinary issues associated with M&E and building services
• Detailed knowledge of construction principles and standards
• You may be required to undertake overseas assignments where required
• It would be helpful if you had significant design and site experience in a similar consultancy or contractor organisation to our client
