My client, a global leading engineering and technology services organisation, is currently looking for a well-communicative and motivated Accountant to assist the growing team in all administrative & accounting tasks required. Located at their Newcastle Office, this is a 5-month requirement.
Working as part of the supply chain and finance team, the role responsibilities will mostly consist of:
• Ensuring all activities undertaken are within internal policies.
Preparing and submiting monthly financial reporting, including SAP system, flash/forecasts & Budgets to tight deadlines, reporting variances both locally & globally (if required).
Developing excel models to ensure more accurate forecasting where ever possible.
Tracking and management of headcounts costs & reporting locally & globally for both permanent and temporary staff.
Preparation of cost accruals/provisions as appropriate as part of month end procedures
Analysis of Warehouse costs
Providing Financial and Commercial support
Assisting with stock audits processes. (Some limited travel to sites will be required).
Collaborate with Regional Finance and Commercial Team providing support to improve processes.
Support and maintain financial departmental KPIs.
Balance sheet Analysis
Managing overhead internal orders and related costs
Raising of external billing for relevant services
The ideal candidate would have:
- Part qualifications in CIMA or ACCA or equivalent and keen to continue studying
• Strong accounting skills with ability to demonstrate basic understanding and interpretation of key financial statements
• Must have an interest in accounting systems
Microsoft Office experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
• Highly ethical and responsible in an approach to work
• Highly committed to work with positive outlook with the ability to demonstrate initiative with flexible and proactive approach to work
• Self-disciplined with strong time management ability and superb attention to detail
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and takes the initiative
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong willingness to learn and develop
• Able to demonstrate support to finance team with collaborative approach
