Associate Trainer/Assessors in UK wide, UK wide, United Kingdom
Redstone Associates has an exciting opportunity for experienced Associate Trainer/Assessors to carry out training/assessing at our Bolton office or other centres and sites around the UK as required. The role is on a contract basis with competitive day rates paid.
The Associates will be responsible for delivering individual and group training and assessment events for our employees, contractors and external clients in the following areas: Sentinel safety critical, p-way technical, rail portable, mobile and small plant.
Responsibilities will include:
- To train and assess PTS, OLEC, Lookout/Site Warden, Hand-signaller, Points Operator, COSS / ES-SWL 1 & 2 and Track Induction.
- Deliver and assess a comprehensive range of training programmes in accordance with legislative requirements, technical and safety instructions and Rail Group and Network Rail Standards.
- Develop and review the training courses, supporting material and competency assessments to ensure they meet defined standards and objectives of Network Rail and those agreed with the customer.
- Deliver training programmes to meet the needs of the business and those of external customers, both at the Training Centre and at customer locations.
- Promote The Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006 (ROGS).
- Review training and assessment materials to ensure currency, sufficiency and quality of training content and that assessment materials are in line with current health and safety legislation and rail industry technical standards.
- Conduct safety critical, technical and operational assessments as defined by the relevant competency management system and in meeting with NWR, Sentinel and NSAR requirements.
- Evaluate feedback from learners and customers to review and develop course content where appropriate.
- Be responsible for maintaining your own competence and undertake a programme of continuous professional development to ensure your knowledge, understanding and experience is current to support training and assessment delivery.
- Assist other training personnel with the arranging, organising and delivering of training programmes for the customers of Redstone Training.
- Apply knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity and its impact on learners in meeting identified training and learning objectives.
- Adhere to Redstone safety management systems, using training to promote best practice safety culture and behaviours.
- Fully participate and engage in our behavioural safety agenda to ensure we work safely.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required:
- NSAR Accredited Track Safety Trainer Assessor
- Assessor Qualifications (D32 / 33 or A1 / A2 or TAQA 301 / 302).
- Trainer and assessor qualifications (NVQ Level 4 Learning and Development or equivalent, or working towards)
- Good knowledge of IT systems, primarily Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Preferred experience in delivering specialised rail plant courses such as rail, drill, impact wrench, disc-cutter, stressing equipment.
- Certified in various items of small specialised rail plant.
- Hold Sentinel certification up to ES level.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Good understanding of equality and diversity and its impact on learners.
- A minimum of P-Way experience (Preferred).
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH National General Certificate (Preferred).
