We are currently working with a multidisciplinary consultancy that work with both Public & Private Organisations in order to find them an Associate Director on a permanent basis with an emphasis on increasing growth within the Rail Sector. As a senior member of the team you should be comfortable in building relationships at all levels both internally and externally as well as a strong Business Development acumen. Ideally the successful post holder will have a minimum of 10 years' experience from a Design Engineering background, 5 of which should be within Rail.
Responsibilities
- Creating the best possible experience for clients and their customers.
- Communicates the required customer service standards to the team and ensures the team works to achieve these.
- Looks for ways to improve quality of service delivery, without impacting cost or service levels.
- Monitors and checks the processes for quality purposes. When they see errors in operation by others, takes action to put them right.
- Delivery of business objectives through effective setting of personal and team goals.
- Sets clear, realistic goals, objectives and performance standards for self and the team.
- Regularly reviews individual's performance within the team on a one to one basis.
- Deals with poor performance in a timely and effective manner.
- Contribution to the Business through awareness of Group services, the Business Unit's purpose and its market place; and identification of new opportunities.
- Thinks through costs and benefits of actions before taking them.
- Relays information upwards that may impact the business.
- Ensures processes and systems developed to deliver the contract are adhered to.
- Notifies the Director of additional risks/claims as soon as they are realised.
- Ensures monthly progress reporting and invoicing is achieved.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Constantly seeking to improve the way business is done through analysis, creativity, problem solving and change initiatives.
- Has own ideas to improve process.
- Encourages others to come forward with their own ideas.
- Supports team members in implementation of change.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience working in the UK rail industry
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in design/engineering
- Good working knowledge of Network Rail Grip process / standards and approval processes.
- Engineering degree in a relevant discipline
- Chartered Member a professional body
