In 2012 Alstom, Babcock and Costain formed ABC Electrification to support Network Rail in meeting the UK railway’s electrification challenges. ABC Electrification has secured over a billion pounds of orders to date making it one of the largest electrification contractors in Europe.
We have a requirement for a Construction Manager on a contract basis.
The role of the Construction Manager is to ensure that all construction work undertaken is compliant with all health, safety & environmental legislation and best practices, and in accordance with all Network Rail and company standards.
Responsibilities will include:
- Achieves project results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring and performance management including contractors
- Ensure all works are delivered in a timely strictly in accordance with the project drawings and specifications.
- Manage and deliver the works in accordance with the programme schedule and budget
- Manage and coordinate construction teams engaged in implementing rail system works
- Liaise with multiple disciplines within the delivery team to ensure all departments are coordinated and communicating effectively to achieve an integrated programme of works
- Understand design drawings for estimating material call off requirements and construction methodology
- Manage and produce risk assessments prior to works commencing, ensuring safe systems of work are being adhered to
- Assess proposed working methods of subcontractors and contractors prior to work commencing to ensure it is suitable and safe
- Ensure completion of works is achieved along with the main works with minimal disruption to surrounding environments
The ideal candidate will have / be:
- Previous experience in on site works
- Experience of working in a similar role, on OLE projects
