Our client is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors, and our portfolio of services ranges from M&E building services, Instrumentation, Rail, Street Lighting, Facilities Management to HV & LV & Combined Heat and Power solutions.
What is the Role?
You’ll be working on DNO Primary Substation asset replacement work, DNO New Connections (11kv & 33kV) or possibly large supply infrastructure projects on the Slough Trading Estate.
Based within or close to the geographic region covering West London, Slough, Oxford, Reading, Swindon, Melksham, Bournemouth, Poole, Southampton, you'll be expected show efficient and profitable use of the labour resources to ensure satisfactory progress is maintained.
Your role will include:
• Acting as the focal point to coordinate works in a safe manner to agreed programmes.
• Liaising with clients, suppliers and other interfaces affected by our works.
• Working closely with SAPs, commissioning engineers and project engineers
• Ensuring our HV construction projects meet design specification and are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role you'll have or previously held DNO Authorisations to supervise working parties in substation environments and be able to accept to accept safety documentation.
To be considered for this role we would love you to have:
• Demonstrable experience as a Site Supervisor with a background in HV projects.
• The ability to lead teams of Electrical Fitters, Jointing staff and civils sub-contractors.
• Experience and an understanding of the CDM Regulations as you’ll be pivotal in ensuring our compliance is meet.
• Successfully completed a time-served Apprenticeship or another recognised training programme in a relevant trade (Electrical Fitter / Jointer/ Wireman)
• Extensive practical knowledge and competence as a Craftsman including experience as a 'leading hand’.
