Minimum Requirement

• This role is the management of the design process, not producing designs.
• Previous experience managing / undertaking Design of line-side civil elements within rail.
• Experienced in production of technical briefs and managing TQ register.
• UK railway Industry experience.

The Project

You will be working on a major railway upgrade in South Wales. The overall programme of works includes track, resignalling, lineside civils and associated structures and station works.

The Role

Reporting to the CRE, you will be responsible for managing the design process for the line-side civils elements of the project. These will include UTX’s, walkways, troughing and cable routes etc.

You will manage the outputs of both internal and external designers; producing design briefs, managing Technical Queries (TQ’s) and submitting designs to NWR for approval.

The Person

As the ideal candidate you will have an excellent understanding of the design process, as this is a process driven role.

• HNC qualified in civil engineering, equivalent qualification or experience in relevant field
• Experience producing design briefs and review of TQ’s
• Railway Civil or Structural project experience
• Understanding of NWR design standards and processes
