Electronics (Soldering+Wireman) Technician for the Electronics Section
This role is for the disassembly, rework/overhaul and reassembly of electronic & electrical equipment. Work pieces are a mixture of through-hole and surface-mount technology, as well as wider electrical components.
Candidate must have experience of reworking aged electronics that have been in the field (not just assembly). Experience of working with conformal coating is preferred.
Candidate must be experienced using a manual soldering iron and de-soldering iron station, and be able to use a range of hand tools.
Candidate must be able to read and work to detailed written work instructions, installation wiring drawings, schematics and other engineering drawings.
Candidate must be able to perform testing in line with a process instruction, and be able to perform minor fault finding.
Candidate must be able to read and correctly act on customer fault reports, and write detailed reports of their findings and completed work.
Candidate must also be an experienced wireman, be able to read wiring diagrams and perform condition assessments of existing wiring.
Candidate must be experienced with a range of wiring hand tools including various types of crimping (including military style terminations).
Candidate must having a proven history of working to IPC-A-610 Class 3 & IPC-A-620 Class 3, and any job offer would be conditional on the candidate holding (or obtaining) the following in-date qualifications:
a) IPC-A-610 and
b) Either IPC J-STD or IPC 7711/ <phone number removed> /7721 preferred) and
c) IPC-A-620
