Are you an experienced Examiner who can independently in carrying out structural examination work to Rail industry standards?

We are looking for someone to join our client in central London, you will need to hit the ground running and have a direct impact on performance through delivery of completed examinations.

The Role

• Carry out site examination of structures to determine the structural condition as allocated within the Alarm system and within defined timescales
• Compile and submit condition reports using the Alarm electronic system or other agreed process and submit for reviewing by the Examining Engineers team
• Perform special examinations as directed including assistance with monitoring schemes for sensitive structures
• Provide assistance with specialist examinations undertaken by the Examining Engineers team, including unique structures and tunnel examinations
• Undertake all on-call duties in support of rapid response, including bridge strike
• Co-operate with quality, safety and environmental objectives and contribute, where appropriate, to continual improvement initiatives
• Makes observations and technically based decisions within sphere of competence for the role
• Makes decisions and takes action on site in respect of immediate safety issues, imminent structural failure and operational capabilities of structures following bridge strikes, at times under pressure

Essential

• NVQ Level 3 in any relevant building construction trade
• IT Literate with minimum word processing and drawing application
• Full UK driving licence
• STE 4 / SCMI competent
• HNC Level qualification / Technician Engineer (ICE) - desirable Individual Working Alone competency - desirable Bridge Strike Examiner – desirable
