Job title: Junior Technical Trainer - Traction & Rolling Stock Field/Home based
Job location: Home based with Field work - main location is London (any travel outside of London will be covered by the employer)
Salary: Circa 42kpa Pension & Benefits

This is a hands on role delivering set programmes of rolling stock and traction training for a commercial training consultancy. You will not initially be required to undertake assessments or write any schemes of work, but will need to have significant experience in delivering informal training within the rail depot environment and excellent rolling stock maintenance knowledge. As you progress with the company the goal would be to develop in these areas to become a fully qualified Trainer Assessor and manage an independent work load.

Key Responsibilities
Providing training to fleet engineers within the client depot environment.
You will be expected to deliver high quality, cost effective, training programmes within required time-scales, ensuring competency assessment targets are met and the continual development of staff skills and knowledge within traction and rolling stock to contribute to reductions in competency related train failures.
You will train all fleet staff in relation to rolling stock and plant equipment and be responsible for the provision of all training materials. You will conduct assessments as required within the competency management system and establish training and assessment programmes to meet clients needs.

Person Profile

Informal training experience equipping the post holder to undertake formal qualifications and training with in the role to work thereafter as a fully qualified Trainer Assessor. Most likely 3+ years experience within the rolling stock environment.

Must have worked on EMUs and have significant understanding of rolling stock electrical systems, maintenance, exam and fault find.

Good numeracy, literacy and IT skills.

Excellent Interpersonal and organisational skills,

Skills
Minimum
Level 3 within rolling stock engineering - must be electrical biased with fault finding/ test or exam experience on EMUs
Experience as a lead technician or team leader

Desirable
A1/A2 Assessor Award or equivalent
D32/D33
C&G 7331 Trainer Techniques Qualification or equivalent
