Field Engineer - OLE

£200-£320/day – 3 month initial contract

Based in Newport

Our client is a well established Nationwide Rail company whose professionalism and well respected name, have been instrumental in their success.

You will need:

Essential:

• Overhead Line Electrification (OLE) Experience
• Experience in erection of masts, SPS and wiring
• Driving License essential
• AC/DC PTS certification
• Diploma in a Railway Engineering or management discipline

Highly Desirable/Preferable:

• Six Sigma Yellow Belt certified
• IWA/COSS certification
• An associate chartered member of professional engineering institution
• Health & Safety Management certification

The Role:

• You will review and validate that contractor’s installation and testing methods are fit for purpose, comply with the Construction Quality Plan (CQP) and adhere to the field engineering work processes.
• Where required, you will attend hold and witness points by Inspection Request Forms (IRF) or Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), signs off the contractor’s documentation, resolves problems or records a non-compliance with reasons.
• Promptly communicate with the Project Engineer (PE) and Designated Project Engineer (DPE) on technical issues including TQ’s, in order to deliver the work in a safe, quality and cost effective manner.
• You may also be asked to prepare Field Change Notice’s (FCN) as required.
• You will also make a contribution to the timely and accurate reviews of assurance documentation for the Completion Manager and monitor contractor’s adherence to critical rail temperature (CRT) process, where required.
