Fitter / Operators in United Kingdom
Samuel Knight currently have an urgent opportunity with a leading Rail Maintenance Company to become a trained Rolling Stock Fitter / Operator - maintaining, servicing and operating a brand new fleet of Rail Maintenance Machines.
The role involves working across the UK in order to meet operational demand meaning the ability to travel & lodge for up to 21 days per assignment is absolutley essential.

DUTIES
- Operating or maintaining the machine safely and effectively, as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Reporting any machine defects or Maintenance Supervisor, where appropriate.
- Collating the data output from the machine where applicable.
- To work safely and effectively to Operations procedures.
- Assist in maintaining quality systems, machine safety packs and stabling database by continually monitoring, reviewing and making recommendations for updating as required
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING:
- Recognised formal apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical engineering
- Prior experience working on the following: Rolling Stock, HGVs, Heavy Plant, Heavy Machinery, Military vehicles / aircraft.
- NVQ / City & Guilds in Engineering discipline
- Proactive, can-do attitude and mind-set with the ability to operate within a team or as an individual
- Valid Driving Licence
