Fleet Planner
We have an excellent opportunity to join our Engineering Team in Romford as a Fleet Planner.
Main Duties:
Develop and issue the daily planned lists of scheduled and unscheduled work (SPP), considering planned resource, facilities, materials and tooling constraints. Ensuring a sufficient BoM is provided to Materials/Stores. Review & prioritise unscheduled work arriving on depot to minimise production impact (load, plan stability).
Develop and maintain reporting tools to monitor the plan and analyse performance. To coordinate with the depot on the timing and delivery of failed units, whilst ensuring the depots are aware of the incidents and that a rectification is required. This shall include a return to service plan.
You will be required to adapt the maintenance plans when circumstances demand, whilst ensuring that mileage or date-based restrictions are not exceeded. Adaptations to the maintenance plan must take into consideration depot road availability and constraints are made in conjunction with Controllers. Monitor service quality issues relating to fleet to ensure that faults are reported accurately to the depot to be rectified with special monitoring of KPIs such as air conditioning etc.
Planning horizon; in conjunction with the Fleet Allocation Controller, develop a scheduled maintenance plan to include exams, checks, modifications, lathe, toilet, cleaning activities and defects
What we are looking for:
Understanding of Railway operating rules, procedures and arrangements especially as with incident management and Rail industry performance management processes. You will also have an understanding of the geographical routes and rolling stock operated by Greater Anglia.
Ability to work in a team, be well organised with the ability to prioritise workloads and be able to develop and maintain credibility and integrity.
You will have a technical based background, ideally qualified to HNC/HND level in an Engineering related discipline and 5+ years in a rolling stock background. Have strong IT skills, use of Excel, R2M, GENIUS and InforEAM and ideally good keyboard skills.
Have previous experience of coaching others and have excellent communication skills – able to communicate effectively under pressure and to a variety of levels within an organisation, including assertiveness and strong influencing skills.
Proven experience of working in team working in a 24/7 critical operational environment.
