 We are currently working with a multi-disciplinary engineering company who are looking to expand their team in London by recruiting a Head of Delivery for the South of England (Rail). You will be responsible for the delivery of quality and competitive foundations to all superstructures as well as bridges gantries within rail projects and across industry. This position would suit candidates from a Rail, Civils, Construction background. As Head of Delivery, you will be responsible for managing the safe, on time and profitable delivery of all operations within the South region to fulfil existing and future customers, as well as contractual requirements. You will be required to build relationships with key clients, identifying suitable opportunities, bidding, and winning works at commercially attractive rates.

 

As Head of Delivery, your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Accountable for safe, on time and on budget delivery of all operations in the respective region/project
  • Accountable for all aspects of business development, estimation, commercial and safety within their regions.
  • Overall Business Operations management of the contracts within the area of responsibility, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the contractual requirements are fully met.
  • To expand Lundy Projects operations portfolio by attracting new clients, working closely with the Senior Management Teams.
  • Manage Project Managers and all staff involved within the contracts.
  • Actively liaising with Commercial, Finance and all other relevant departments to ensure resources are in place and productivity and budget targets are met.
  • Liaise with the relevant teams to ensure staff work plans and rosters are safe and most efficient to meet business requirements.
  • Attend contract review meetings with clients, monitor customer KPIs and train performance reports.
  • Budget holder for your respective region, ensuring costs meet budgetary requirements, by working with Finance Manager for CVR process each period.
  • Monitor and take responsibility for managing resources and budgets in own area. Contribute to resource planning and lead on future cost reduction and efficiency programmes.
  • Work with HR on all aspects of the employee life cycle.
  • Liaise with the relevant departments to ensure cost effective utilisation of stock. Liaise with the Plant Manager to ensure Plant Machinery are maintained at the agreed times and locations.
  • Ensure staff are briefed and have a full understanding on the contract requirements and KPIs as required.
  • Liaise with the customer to ensure the delivery of a safe, reliable and cost effective service, providing innovation by actively thinking of smarter and more efficient ways of delivering the contract.
 

Job requirements:

  • Good Knowledge of railway geography
  • Excellent IT knowledge of Word/Excel/Power point.
  • Good Knowledge of Haulage Contracts and commercial awareness
  • General understanding of railway operations and rules
  • General familiarisation with Traction and Rolling Stock
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills

As mentioned, this position as Head of Delivery of the South is Rail based, but would suit candidates with experience in heavy civils, ancillary civils, construction, and general civils infrastructure. This role is based out of the London office but covers the Southern Region, so travel is required for this role.
