Job title: Materials / Inventory Operative

Client Summary:
Our client is a global leader within the manufacture of bespoke electrical & electronic products. They are looking for Operatives within the Inventory / Supply Chain area to cover material handling & processing duties within receiving, kitting and dispatching all goods / products.
Duties:
*Always ensure Health and Safety of staff.
*Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to the 5S principles.
*Strong decision making and problem-solving skills.
*Strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
*Check goods delivered to ensure that the quantity of parts received matches up with quantities advised.
*Book goods into stock on the WMS (Infor-LN) system and locate goods into correct stores areas.
*Manage reject returns into the supply area.
*Pick goods against a picking list, advice note or consignment listing.
*Action the picking list on the manufacturing system to update stock figures.
*Ensure that all goods are adequately packed and wrapped.
*Deliver goods to designated areas - internal and customer premises.
*Ensure that goods delivered to customers are signed for and delivery notes are filed in accordance with the company procedure.
*Co-ordinate deliveries to and from sub-contractors.
*Physical inventory counting and repacking.
*Meet KPI targets
*Identify and communicate ideas of improvement (Kaizen)
*Any other ad hoc duties that arise as the company requires.
Work Environment
*This job operates in number of areas. This role routinely uses standard equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/photocopiers and forklift trucks.
*Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job; mobility to navigate all workshop areas and offices and to use computer technology and operate equipment within the department.

Qualifications:
5 GCSEs including Maths & English or Level 2 minimum qualification in functional skills, production operations, warehousing operations or similar
Relevant experience of warehousing, inventory, goods in etc
Beneficial if you have any experience of SAP or similar MRP systems
Beneficial if you have any formal manual handling training or training or certificates within materials handling / FLT or similar materials handling equipment
