Samuel Knight are urgently searching for experienced fitters / engineers to maintain and operate a fleet of heavy rolling stock for a leading Rail Freight Operator.

The role involves working across the UK in order to meet operational demand meaning the ability to travel & lodge for up to 21 days per assignment is required.

DUTIES

• Operating or maintaining the machine safely and effectively, as instructed by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Reporting any machine defects or Maintenance Supervisor, where appropriate.
• Collating the data output from the machine where applicable.
• To work safely and effectively to Operations procedures.
• Assist in maintaining quality systems, machine safety packs and stabling database by continually monitoring, reviewing and making recommendations for updating as required

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING:

• Recognised formal apprenticeship in Mechanical, Electrical engineering
• Prior experience working on the following: Rolling Stock, HGVs, Heavy Plant, Heavy Machinery, Military vehicles / aircraft.
• NVQ / City & Guilds in Engineering discipline
• Proactive, can-do attitude and mind-set with the ability to operate within a team or as an individual
• Valid Driving Licence
