What is the purpose of this role?
- To Supervise and deliver allocated package works in a safe and effective manner, conforming to contract specification and delivery to approved programme and targets costs.
- To support the Delivery Package Managers and Commercial Team to ensure that the KeolisAmey receives it’s full financial entitlement as due under the terms of the Main Contract.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationship with the Project team, TFW and IDP through the development and implementation of collaborative working.
What will this role involve?
- Supervise the delivery of allocated package works fulfilling the requirements outline in the definition of a NEC contract Supervisor.
- Undertaking site visits to carry out the scope of works at the frequency and duration agreed with the Delivery Package Manager.
- Being responsible for ensuring that the installation is carried out in accordance with the works information and that any changes will be implemented with the prior consent of the Delivery Package Manager.
- Forming a full understanding of the works information and if requested, assisting in establishing any further works information.
- Examine the site as directed, ensuring preparation and execution to correct standards of a full and effective programme of work.
- Ensure that the contractor satisfies the quality standards set in the works information.
- Have the authority to issue instructions to search for defects and be specifically responsible for issuing Defects Certificates.
- Participate in risk assessments and put in place adequate control measures when required.
- Provide information to planning team to ensure accurate site paperwork can be produced.
- Participate in reviewing/preparation of resource schedules, methodology and preparation of Work Package Plans and Task Briefings.
- Ensure that all necessary paperwork is delivered to the site teams and brought back at the depot in a timely manner, reviewed when required and adequately filed for future reference, checks and audit purposes
- Keeping the Delivery Package Manager constantly updated on production progress.
- Ensure effective supervision of core workforce to achieve high levels of safety, performance, attendance and behavioural standards.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure the compliance of the approved method of work & Task
- Ensure that surplus materials are loaded away promptly from site or made available for disposal as directed.
- Ensure that standards of tidiness are maintained at lineside, in offices and cabins in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and instructions during work and on completion of work.
- Liaise with the IDP team as necessary to ensure the efficient running of the site.
- Attendance at planning / progress meetings as required.
- Weekend/night duty as required.
What are we looking for?
Essential Skills, Qualifications and Training:
- Proven track record in Construction Management and Supervision on Railway Projects is likely to have in excess of 5 years experience at a supervisor level.
- Good understanding of the construction / railway industry.
- Understanding of Railway Planning systems
- Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act and CDM Regulations
- Knowledge of accident investigation techniques
- Highly effective motivator with strong written and spoken communication skills and capable of interfacing at all levels in the organisation.
- Exhibit behaviours that will support and develop collaborative working.
- Good supervisory skills
- Understanding commercial processes and requirements.

Desirable Skills, Qualifications and Training:
- Health & Safety Training (IOSH)
- Top Set Accident Investigation
- Awareness of industry issues.
- Experience of supervising and directing staff.
- Computer literate.
- SMSTS
- NEC3 Accreditation
