NEC3 Works Supervisor in Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom
The NEC3 Works Supervisor will be a delegate from the named Supervisor for all HS2 Phase 1 works. This is a significant role within HS2 and will report to the Project Supervisor.
The Supervisor's role is to undertake the duties of the Supervisor under the NEC3 engineering and construction contract. The Supervisor is required to ensure that:
The overall objective of the Supervisor is to protect the interests of the Employer, whilst ensuring works are carried out in accordance with the contract.
The Works Supervisor supports the Project Supervisor to perform the duties of the Supervisor under the NEC contract between HS2 and the works Contractors.
1. ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Supervisor shall act in a spirit of mutual trust and co-operation with the Employer, the Contractor and the Project Manager.
Both the Project Manager and the Supervisor roles act as agents to the Employer, and are independent of each other.
Whilst the Project Manager is the focal point of the contract, and it is their duty to manage the contract on behalf of the Employer (to achieve the Employer's objectives with regard to budget, programme, quality), the Supervisor performs an independent role in regard to the quality of the works.

3. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE ATTRIBUTES
Demonstrable experience of managing quality on multi-disciplinary projects and sites.
Experience in the operation of NEC contracts is desirable
BSc or MSc in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent technical field, and a professional qualification is desirable, alternatively a significantly long practical experience in construction disciplines relevant to the inspection scopes
NEC3 ECC Supervisor Accreditation is desirable
Thorough approach and attention to detail required
Microsoft office (excel advanced), CEMAR, Power BI desirable

Take reasonable care to ensure your own and others' health and safety - including those who may be affected by the delivery of this role - by taking personal responsibility for working to the HS2 S.A.F.E programme principles.
CSCS card
SMSTS or SSSTS desirable
Co-operate with HS2 in all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times and not interfering with measures in place to protect your health, safety or welfare.
Advocate and promote the company's well-being strategy and policies.
