Job Summary

An opportunity has arisen for an Operations Planner to join our existing Planning Department working for our busy signalling team within VRSB.

Based in Doncaster and reporting to the Operations Planning Manager the key duties will include:

• Generation of Safe System of Work (SSOW) obtaining and collating information for both current and forecast workloads complying with current Client Standards.

• Attend work sites as required prior to work commencing to assess appropriate SSOW.

• Plan resources to meet the needs of the short term and long term programmes; liaising with Senior Project Engineers and Construction Managers to ensure competent staff are assigned to relevant projects.

• Ensure all teams, sub-contractors have SSOW paperwork to carry out the pre-planned works.

• Ensure SSOW is adhered to by all internal and external parties at all times.

• Ensure that all matters relating to SSOW planning are documented and actioned.

• Attend possession pre planning meetings to discuss possession details and arrangements for forthcoming works. (Currently via Teams)

• Attend weekly PICOP meetings to discuss engineering worksite detail and finalise alterations. (Currently via Teams)

• Inputting of worksites in accordance with project program requirement.

• GZAC Planning and in accordance with NWR Standard.

• Assessing the risks associated with working on or near the line at particular locations to enable protection arrangements to be determined.

• Producing of access trackers in line with project requirements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be self-motivated with a pro-active approach with experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines with a minimum level of supervision. Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are required for this role.

The candidate will also ideally have the following Experience/skill set:

* Previous experience of planning on major projects.

* A competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

* A positive and enthusiastic approach to challenges and problems.

* The ability to manage work to meet varying deadlines.

* PPS, NROL & GZAC experience.

* SSOW Planner Sentinel competency, PTS, COSS or IWA, competencies.
